Create A Clan Bochum: Rules for the German-Impaired... ;-)

Post by hardyrange »

You asked for it, you get it:

Create A Clan v.2.4
You can download these rules as a MS Word document here:
http://www.vekn.de/main/vekn/playgroups ... -Rules.doc

Original rules designed by Ben Peal, Prince of Boston, fudjo@mindstorm.com, see http://www.darkwindrising.com/vampire/special.asp
Adapted and expanded by Hardy Range, prinz.bochum@gmx.de, with ideas and input from Holger Christiansen, Robert Müller, Ben Peal, Michael Deflize, Tobias op den Brouw and Yours Truly.

For the event, all self-made cards have to be put into sleeves, preferably with a real card behind your print-out, or sleeves with an opaque back, or both…
Tools to create your own cards may be found here: http://www.almadrava.net/damnans/downloads.htm

The Rules for the Tournament:

:arrow: Each player (right, that means you!) creates his or her own vampiric clan especially for this event (see below for more).
:arrow: For this event, the crypt of your deck may only consist of vampires from your own clan.
:arrow: Only two copies, maximum, of each vampire may be in the crypt.
:arrow: Otherwise, all standard VEKN tournament rules apply: a minimum of 12 vampires in the crypt, 60 - 90 library cards, and so on.

The Rules for the self-created cards:

:arrow: Each clan must have a name and a vampiric sect it belongs to. Note that Anarchs and Black Hand do not count as sects; only Camarilla, Independent or Sabbat qualify.
:arrow: Each vampire in your clan must belong to the sect you chose for your clan.
:arrow: Each vampire must have a name. Should two vampires in a game have the exact same name, the usual rules for contesting apply.
:arrow: Please make sure that those names do not contain insults, racial prejudice, or otherwise problematic stuff, will ya?

:arrow: You may design a Hunting Ground for your clan. This would have the usual properties of a Hunting Ground (Unique Location, 2 Pool, etc.), and it needs a name which has to end with “… Hunting Ground”. Should two Hunting Grounds in a game happen to have the same name, they will contest.
:arrow: For players who really feel creative, we will allow using adapted library cards with home-made new artwork. However, the original cards must be put in the sleeve behind the printout, and every player may ask to verify that this is indeed the case.
:arrow: So, proxies in the original sense are not allowed.

:arrow: Your clan must have three clan disciplines. You may not choose a combination of disciplines that an official clan in the game already has.
:arrow: These clan disciplines may not be from the Bloodlines set (so, no Daimonion, Flight, Melpominee, Mytherceria, Obeah, Sanguinus, Spiritus, Temporis, Thanatosis, Valeren, Visceratika).

:arrow: Vampires may have capacities ranging from 2 through 10.
:arrow: You may only have 2 vampires in your clan who have the same capacity.
:arrow: No two vampires in your clan may have the exactly same discipline spread (but inferior and superior discipline(s) are considered different).
:arrow: No two vampires with capacity 5 or lower may have the same discipline on superior.
:arrow: Only two vampires in your clan may share the same out-of-clan discipline. Those two vampires must be of a different capacity. For out-of-clan disciplines, you may choose Bloodlines disciplines! Please note that we count Flight as a discipline as far as these rules are concerned. Flight is considered to be an inferior discipline, with no superior version possible.
:arrow: A vampire may only get an out-of-clan discipline when he already has all three clan disciplines.
:arrow: A vampire must have more points (see below) worth of clan disciplines than of out-of-clan disciplines.

:arrow: Each vampire gets points to use for buying disciplines and special abilities according to this table:

* Capacity 2-4: Capacity -1 points
* Capacity 5-6: Capacity ± 0 points
* Capacity 7-8: Capacity +1 points
* Capacity 9-10: Capacity +2 points

:arrow: The point costs are as follows:

Disciplines:
* Discipline on Inferior: 1 point
* Discipline on Superior: 2 points

Titles:
* Primogen/Bishop/"1 vote": 0,5 points (minimum capacity 6, only for Camarilla/Sabbat/Independent, respectively)
* Prince/Archbishop/"2 votes": 1 point (minimum capacity 8, only for Camarilla/Sabbat/Independent, respectively)
* Justicar/Cardinal: 1,5 points (minimum capacity 10, only for Camarilla/Sabbat, respectively, max. one Justicar/Cardinal per clan)
* Priscus: 1 point (minimum capacity 8, only for Sabbat)

Each Prince or Archbishop needs to have a domain. You may choose from all domains where there is an official VEKN Prince (http://206.65.59.246/vtes/calendar/princes.tpl) and that does not have an official Prince or Archbishop in the VTES game. The usual rules for contesting apply...

Sub-Sects:
* Black Hand: 0,5 points (only for Sabbat, only allowed for otherwise untitled vampires, max. 1 Black Hand vampire with capacity below 5)
* Black Hand Seraph: 1 point (minimum capacity 7, only for Sabbat, only allowed for otherwise untitled vampires, max. 1 Seraph per clan)

Each clan may have a maximum of 2 Black Hand vampires.

Special Abilities:
* +1 Bleed (minimum capacity 6): 1,5 points
* +1 Bleed when bleeding a Methuselah who controls a vampire of a certain sect (no minimum capacity): 1 point (may be taken in addition to +1 Bleed above)
* +1 Strength (minimum capacity 6): 1,5 points
* +1 Strength when in combat with a vampire belonging to a certain sect (no minimum capacity): 1 point (may be taken in addition to +1 Strength above)
* +1 Intercept (minimum capacity 9): 1 point
* +1 Stealth (minimum capacity 9): 2 points

In addition to all titles, sub-sect designations, and disciplines, a vampire may only have one of these special abilities, except where noted.
Each of these special abilities may be used only once in designing your clan.

Should you be left with 0,5 points to spend at the end of designing a vampire: Tough luck... :wink:
