Obedience [Jyhad:U, VTES:U, Sabbat:U, SW:PV, CE:U]
Cardtype: Reaction
Discipline: Dominate
Only usable when this reacting vampire is about to enter combat with an acting younger vampire.
[dom] Untap the acting vampire, do not tap this reacting vampire, and end the current action (and combat). The acting vampire cannot attempt the same action this turn.
[DOM] As above, but do not untap the acting vampire
The Kiss of Ra [AH:U5, FN:PR, CE:PV, Anarchs:PG]
Cardtype: Action Modifier
Cost: 3 blood
Discipline: Fortitude
Only usable when a vampire who does not have Fortitude attempts to block this acting minion.
[for] The block attempt is canceled, the blocking vampire burns 2 blood, and the current action is ended (without combat).
[FOR] As above, and the blocking vampire goes into torpor.
-----
Just to be sure, the previous ruling "no reaction/action mod. can be played after somebody played a card that ends the action" is valid for all cards that end the action?
If this is right:
a) you can't play Cat's Guidance (inf) after Obedience (the minion was tapped, played Wake wEF, blocked, played Obedience), just like no acion modifiers/reaction cards can be played after Car Bomb (if the acting minion has a vehicle).
b) I see an inconsistency.
1. minion takes an action, no block, action resolves, at the end Freak Drive can be played (inf, sup).
2. minion takes an action, is blocked, combat occurs (hand strikes, nothing special), action ends with blocked status, at the end Freak Drive can be played (sup).
3. minion takes an action, is blocked, blocker plays Obedience, the action ends with blocked status, but at the end of action you can't play Freak Drive. Why?
Is THIS really the reason, why you can't use Freak drive with Kiss of Ra? Or is the real reason behind, that after playing Kiss of Ra, the action is neither successful (FD inf) nor blocked (FD sup).
thanks
dvorax.
Subject: [Rules Question]: Freak Drive
LSJ - 06/13/2003 08:06:19 - vtesrep@white-wolf.com
1) Correct.
2) Correct.
3) Correct. Card text. Action modifiers can only be played
during the action. Not after.
KoR: Same reason. Kiss of Ra ends the action
So, das ist nun geklärt.

cardtext
Aber cardtext freak drive :
Only usable immediately AFTER (!) this vampire performs (?!?) an action ....
Da steht doch eindeutig AFTER.

Freak Drive [Jyhad:R2, VTES:R, CE:U/PV2, Anarchs:PG]
Cardtype: Action Modifier
Cost: 1 blood
Discipline: Fortitude
[for] Only usable at the end of a successful action (after resolving the action). Untap this vampire.
[FOR] As above, but usable even if the action is blocked (play after combat, if any).
Nichts mit after, sondern "at the end".
