Second VTES European Draft Championship
After 2 year’s before very successful “European Draft Championship” we are happy to announce that this year will see the second installment of this great event.

This time around, VTES.de is inviting all European players to join in a weekend of tough struggles, vicious politicking and nasty fighting with tooth and nail. Many consider the draft to be the queen of tournaments, as players cannot rely on an established and well-tested deck but instead have to adapt to a game environment which is rapidly changing all the time. Do you have what it takes to conquer the European Nights?

The Tournaments
The Eurodraft will take place on Saturday. Winner will be awarded with the European Draft Champion title of 2010.

Sunday will be devoted to the German Continental Qualifier – please note that you will not have to qualify for this event. The Top 5 will automatically be qualified for participation in any Continental Championship in 2010.

The Location
The event will take place on the 1st and 2nd of May in DasHaus in Ludwigshafen am Rhein. Amongst European players this location is well-known due to the numerous events such as Qualifiers and Nationals which took place there in the past. It offers more than enough room for about 100 players in two different rooms. Drinks will be available on location.

Eurodraft: Draft from 9 Boosters

Could you please tell us of which expansions these boosters will be?

Currently I am leaning towards 5 KoT and 4 3rd. But open to any suggestions. We have everything on stock.

Sounds reasonable. I just wanted to know.

Sounds good, i would really appreciate some 3rd Boosters. Has been really much HttB (obviously) and KoT around the last times.

I would actually prefer some 4+3 boosters to allow one recursion by official tournament rules. Adds some additional strategic depth.
7.2.2. Recursion
When the minimum library size is less than forty, each player gets a number of recursions based on that minimum size.

I prefer this too. And the time for drafting will not be so long.

Good point.
So we go with 4 KoT + 3rd.
1 recursion allowed.

Which crypt and deck size does that lead to?
(can't view the rules pages from here)

I don't like recursion, as it makes slightly better decks even more stronger. If you had a bad draw your disadvantage is even bigger, it doubles. I.e. if you are lucky to get a Dreams of the Sphinx you actually have it twice. So please stick with the decision for 9 boosters.

I agree with Männele, you wont see funny cards that made it into the deck, cause of smaller deck size. 35 cards with recursion are like good 70 cards deck with the additional advantage using the draft effects. Dohh!!!

But in the end its your decision.
