Recursion allows to focus your deck and actually have a strategy.
Even when you don't initially draw the über-boosters.
I don't argue in favor of unfocused decks, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying, that being a lucky ass doubles in recursion drafts. You have to build focused decks in draft, that's for sure. And you are perfectly able to do that with 9 boosters (which are around 81 library cards, which you cut down to about 40-45). If you are lucky enough to draft 2-4 bounce or bleed-reducing cards (or what is your favored card) you have a strong advantage if you get it once again compared to the chap, who missed those cards.

Some may argue it's people's own fault if they missed them. But often enough it's a matter of luck if you have such cards in your initial booster or not. Luck is already a strong enough factor for draft (compared to constructed games). We don't have to maximize it even more.

(OTOH I have been always lucky in drafts so far. So let's do the recursion thing :D .)
OKAY. For you draft is luck, for skilled draftplayer it is not.
But this dicussion is boring me.
I prever recursion, but in the end it is not my decision.

because frenchmen can't help giving their advice even when they're not invited to do so-well, specially when they're not invited - I'll prefer a 9 boosters draft with no recursion.
:P

Well you have to give him credit for two back-to-back championships in Draft

Maybe we should start a poll so that the participants could at least show what they would wish for.

Sorry, had a bad day. I don´t mean that personal.
I just wont to say that other players see it different. And I as a player who played draft in several card games can tell that luck in drafstrategy is not that big factor that you give it. It is a factor, but draft is about playing suboptimal cards in an optimal way. And for that you don´t need luck.
